LOL. Well, Dylan wrote every song that's any
good (with the possible exception for Bruce's stuff who's basically
Dylan Mk. II). Anybody knows that..... :P
Subterranean Homesick Blues is one of my faves, Like A Rolling
Stone obviously, Like A Woman, Rainy Day Woman... there's so many
it's hard to name a selection really :)
I once tripped over a couple "making love" whilst walking back
from the front of a Bruce Springsteen gig because I was a bit
bored. Sorry, but they also thought they needed to make there own
entertainment. Later stuff is better though if that redeems me a
little
I'm older now, maybe I'd get it more but "better voice" isn't
necessarily a great argument. You will probably want to flame me
even more but I just didn't find the passion in Springsteen when I
saw him and it seemed more about quantity rather than quality
(specially with the shows). I remember borrowing the Live Box Set
and taping it all to get into. I just didn't though.
If you don't get the atmosphere at a Springsteen gig, I don't
know what to say. We're probably exact musical opposites. Sorry,
he's just the best live act ever.
Listening to "Hurricane" now. Another one of my favourites.
I doubt we are the exact musical opposites, but we both may have
musical blindspots. I saw Springsteen in '88 apparently the last
gig with the E-Street Band until '99. Also on the bill was Peter
Gabriel, Sting, Tracey Chapman and Yousou N'Dour. An amazing line
up for 1988
Every Grain of Sand, Idiot Wind, Simple Twist of Fate, Tangled
Up in the Blue, Isis, Neighbourhood Bully, Things Have Changed,
Visions of Joanna, Highlands, Like a Rolling Stone. Thats todays
choice, if you ask me next week I might have a different 10

Oh yeah, Dylans voice has never sounded better. Niel youngs voice is great and so is Johnny Cash (he says getting all animated)
